Consistency is the common challenge faced by supplier managers and partners across industry. Non-employee and external stakeholders can make or break a company’s image. They can affect the performance of the company. The main concern of organisations is how to develop the same level of competency and product knowledge as internal employees. Also, how can organisations encourage quality prices, brand identity and common messaging across the entire company? All this can be done by implementing learning management systems.

Learning management software is a web based software application platform that is used effectively to make plans, apply them and consider learning processes related to online and offline training administrations and performance management.

In order to link the gap between internal and external stakeholders, it is seen that many organisations have opted for learning and knowledge management strategies for their partner programmes backed by learning management systems. Learning management systems help partner management organisations by minimising training administration costs through computerisation. This is done by implementing efficient eLearning modules in place of instructor led course activities and also helps in ensuring partner fulfilment by using trade analytics and certificates.

You can use this learning management system to inform and educate your audience beyond the boundaries of your company to your vendors, suppliers and partners within the company.

Thus, learning management systems can help in building the same level of consistency and competency in external stake holders which will improve business efficiency.

Consistency is the common challenge faced by all supplier and partner managers across industries and around the world. Non-employee and external stakeholders can affect the performance of the company for good or bad. It is necessary for the companies to develop the same level of proficiency and product knowledge in stakeholders just like their internal employees.

Companies should instill a common brand identity, quality practices and messaging in its entire enterprise. This can be done by implementing the learning management system in their company.

What is a learning management system?

A learning management system is a web-based software application platform used to prepare the plan, implement it and assess learning processes linked to offline and online performance management and training administration.

How do learning management systems work?

Many organizations have already implemented learning management strategies for their partner programs to link the hole between in-house and outside stakeholders of the company. Learning management systems have helped in minimizing the computerized training administrations costs. This is done by replacing the instructor-led course activities with cost-effective eLearning modules. This will ensure partner compliance with the use of training analytics and certifications.

You can develop a business case by using a learning management system to inform and educate your partners, suppliers and vendors beyond the traditional boundaries of the company.

All those who have not opted for learning management systems should do so to improve their relations with their internal and external stakeholders.

The major printing company Lexmark recently wrapped up a 2-day channel training programme in Cairo, Egypt. Lexmark has been closely working with retailers and resellers in major markets throughout the Middle East in order to successfully help partners to sell and incorporate Lexmark printing solutions.

A total of sixty retail channel representatives and resellers from Cairo took part in the training programme earlier this month. This course is specially designed to strengthen and boost relationships amongst Lexmark resellers in Egypt. Similar events also took place in Oman and in the UAE.

Lexmark International’s Middle Eastern general manager, Mohammed Ali Addarrat, said that the training was designed to improve the awareness and knowledge about Lexmark products and solutions amidst their existing partners, and to introduce their portfolio to new partners in the region.

The opening day’s activities consisted of product sales training, a summary of Lexmark as an organisation and comprehensive sales training. During the event, Addarrat also explained the selection of Aptec Egypt as the authorised service agent for Lexmark. Furthermore, the attendees were also present at a conference on customer service support to learn more about the channel importance program; a gateway where every registered partner can access information about Lexmark products, sales tools and competitive charts.

Microsoft is looking forward to skill up around 3,000 apprentices in the next two years as it looks at rejuvenating the UK IT workforce. In the past week, the software giant, Microsoft has launched its ‘Britain Works’ initiative. Backed by three major political parties, Lord Digby Jones and The Job Centre, the channel-specific National Partner Apprenticeship Scheme is also a part of the initiative.

Microsoft’s head of skills and economic affairs, Stephen Uden told CRN that they believe they can get around 3,000 channel apprentices through this programme. It is low-risk and a great way for partners to be able to employ new people, in the initial tech support space. Uden also said that the partners signing up the scheme can select an appropriate apprentice from an array, prior to undertaking a six-month intensive training course. At the end of six months, the partners will be left with a completely trained member of staff.

Uden also added that the IT sector will be one of the business sectors that would lead the financial recovery. It is a win-win situation for partners and it also demonstrates the importance of the partner model. Uden further added that they are also looking forward to extend it to other areas outside technical support in the near future.
